Robyn Montarsolo MPsych, CPsychol

Mrs. Robyn Montarsolo completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology (MA Hons) at St Andrews University, Scotland in 1989. Following graduation she decided to pursue a clinical psychology career path as this more closely reflected her broader interests in human functioning.

Prior to professional clinical psychology training, Robyn completed a research degree at University College London (MSc Experimental methods in Psychology) and then worked as an assistant psychologist in London and Bermuda to get some experience in different areas of applied psychology.

She then attended a professional training course in clinical psychology at Curtin University in Perth Australia (Masters in Clinical and Health Psychology). This provided her with comprehensive and multi theoretical training across all core areas of clinical psychology practice, as well as a strong grounding in academic research.

Since qualifying, Robyn worked in the U.K. (having been granted a Statement of Equivalence for her Clinical Psychology training in Australia) before returning to Bermuda to live and work.  She has worked for the Bermuda Hospitals Board for eight years, initially in the Learning Disability Service, and then in the Rehabilitation Day Hospital and Continuing Care Directorate.  She has worked with individuals in the hospital and in out patient settings with extensive experience working with individuals across the life span with mental health issues, and psychological distress.

Robyn qualified in 1999 and is registered to practice in Bermuda and the UK. She is currently Chair of the Bermuda Psychologists Registration Council. Robyn’s psychology practice encompasses working with adults and older adults suffering from many psychological problems, providing a confidential, ethical psychological service.

She works from a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental perspective, utilising clinical psychological assessment and therapy, grounded in scientific research. She enjoys working with people of all ages, their family and caregivers, recognising that individuals are part of a larger family system or community.

Robyn works using an integrative and eclectic approach in therapy, which is dependent on the individual’s needs, preferences and goals.  She is experienced in a wide range of therapeutic approaches that include cognitive behavioural therapy, cognitive analytic therapy, interpersonal therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, systemic and family therapy, focused psychodynamic therapy and EMDR. In addition, she is qualified to conduct comprehensive neuropsychological, psychometric and psycho diagnostic tests.
